About Marian Volkman, CTS
Marian Volkman has practiced in the field of personal growth, human potential and trauma resolution since 1971. In the early 1980s she met Frank A. Gerbode, M.D. and became involved with helping to develop his emerging subject of Applied Metapsychology, including Traumatic Incident Reduction.
Marian has been a frequent presenter at trauma conferences, including the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists (ATSS) conferences, and also at conferences on personal growth. She is trained and certified as an Applied Metapsychology facilitator, trainer and technical director (supervisor) at all levels. In the mid-1990s she was recognized by ATSS as a Certified Trauma Specialist.
Since its inception, she has worked on the AMI Development and Editing Committee, and now serves as chair of the Committee. She has written numerous articles for the AMI/TIRA Newsletter, many of which appear here. In 2005 her book, Life Skills: Improve the Quality of Your Life with [Applied] Metapsychology was released. 2007 brought Children and Traumatic Incident Reduction, edited by Marian. She has several more books in progress.
