Q: How long have you been a TIR trainer?
A: I became a TIR trainer in 2014.
A: I became a TIR trainer in 2014.
Q: What inspired you to become a TIR trainer?
A: I have a passion for psychology and total well-being (Spirit Mind Body Connection). Through all the years of coaching, counseling, and teaching thousands of teenagers and adults (locally and internationally), I have often experienced a gap in my foundation until I discovered TIR. I know now that TIR not only complements total well-being, but it also provides me with very powerful tools, crucial in my client’s success.

I personally experienced severely traumatic incidents as a child. As a result, I suffered from PTSD years later in my life. Today, I testify with gratefulness that TIR played a major role during my own healing process and contributed towards my current state of great health.
Yvonne Retief, a personal friend and confidant of more than 20 years, inspired me to begin this work.
Q: What do you find rewarding about it?
A: I believe everyone on earth has experienced trauma in some way or other. I find that people immediately relate to the subject and have an innate interest in it. As the TIR Training Workshop unfolds, I get to experience the joy that TIR brings about in others, when they finally experience it for themselves by doing the practical exercises in the Workshop. I find it rewarding as TIR facilitates growth, enriches people, adds value and really makes a profound difference.

Q: Describe your professional background?
A: After being a high school teacher, I completed my honours degree in Clinical Psychology and spent many years working for corporations and private companies in various industries i.e IT (information technology), private banking, micro-lending. Positions I held vary between being Project Manager, HR Specialist and General Manager. I started my own business (KDL Leadership Consultants – KDL in short) during the years when I did a Masters Degree in Personal Leadership: Total Wellbeing. KDL consulted to many corporations and private owned companies. Six years ago, I was appointed as Wellness Specialist to a well-known mining company (listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange). KDL was forced to be dormant during that time. I left the mining company three years ago. Since then, I have managed my own business and am still operating as KDL Leadership Consultants, today.
