Q: What inspired you to become a TIR trainer?
A: I have been a TIR practitioner for almost 10 years and have never ceased to be impressed with the results obtained. I live in a country with much trauma as result of a very high crime rate. I feel that I can really make a contribution towards addressing the effects of trauma by training as many people as possible to use this technique.

Q: What do you find rewarding about it?
A: The fact that heavily traumatized people can be relieved of debilitating effects of trauma in such a relatively short time by using TIR.

Q: Are you willing to travel to deliver training, if so under what conditions?
A: Yes, on condition that I know a reasonable time ahead of the training dates and that it is safe to go to where the training will take place.

A: Yes.
A: Yes.
Q: Besides TIR, what other things are you interested in?
A: Professionally I am very interested in Transactional Analysis as a model in psychology. I use it extensively in counselling and have developed an approach to treating adult survivors of childhood abuse based on Transactional Analysis.

Q: Describe your professional background?
A: I initially qualified and worked as a medical technologist. After taking some years to raise my children, I started training at the local Marriage Guidance Council where I worked for 21 years. I specialized in counselling adult survivors of childhood abuse. I read several papers on this subject at international and national conferences, and also presented many workshops teaching my technique.

My interest in this specific type of trauma, as well as the crime situation in our country, led to my interest in trauma in a wider sense. I did not feel that the approach we had been using to address trauma, was really effective. I came across a brochure advertising Gerald French’s first workshop on TIR in South Africa and I was hooked!
I have been in private practice since 2004.
